Scones (makes 8, depending on size)
What goes together better than tea and scones :) A super easy recipe and they taste delicious
Method:
Sift dry ingredients together, then add sugar
Rub margarine into dry ingredients until mixture resembles breadcrumbs
Mix egg and milk together and add to dry ingredients, forming a soft (not sticky) dough
Turn out onto a floured surface and pat out lightly, to a thickness of +-2cm
Cut into rounds or squares
Place on a baking tray and bake at 200 degrees for 12-15mins
Variation: Cheese scones
Omit sugar and add 250ml grated cheddar cheese to dry ingredients

* Can use a wooden spoon, no need for a mixer
* Can replace half the milk with water for a lighter scone
* Use cookie cutters to cut the shape
* Serve with honey, syrup, cheese, jam or cream
